雅思阅读考点词之否定词

在雅思阅读题目中时而会出现否定词形式，即否定词为特征的考点词。对雅思阅读否定词进行总结，不难发现阅读中的否定词大体可以分为两类：显性否定词和隐性否定词。所谓显性否定词，即在句子中非常易识别的否定表达，比如：not, never, few, no, without 等等。

例a题：Johnson did not have a ____ availableto him, but eventually produced definitions of in excess of 40,000 wordswritten down in 80 large notebooks

原文：The work was immense; filling abouteighty large notebooks ( and without a library to hand), Johnsonwrote the definitions of over 40,000 words, and illustrated their many meaningswith some 114000 quotations drawn from English writing on every subject

本题题目的否定考点词是not, 通过对否定词的了解和对summary题的解题方法，不难发现在原文中对应的否定词是without；因此，了解否定词考点，会更有效的帮助我们定位和解题。

除了显性否定词，还有一类否定词为隐性否定词。对于烤鸭来说，这类否定词不会被轻易识别，比如:out of the question, far from, ashortage of, lack of  等等。烤鸭们在题目题干中遇到这些否定词，要对这类词非常敏感且需留意这些否定词在原文中的同意替换。

例题：The writer thinks that thedeclaration ‘There is no bullying at this school’ reflected a lackof knowledge and resources.

原文：Until recently, notmuch was known about the topic, and little help was availableto teachers to deal with bullying.

题目中隐性否定词是a lack of …and… ，“缺乏知识和资源”；在原文中分别用not much …,and little help… 做同意替换。
