SAT标点符号知多少？

SAT的文法部分对标点的考察越发重要，涉及到的标点符号有：逗号，句号，冒号，分号，括号，破折号。下面关新老师帮大家整理了各种标点符号的应用。

1.逗号

逗号的主要作用是分割，通过分割单词，词组和从句，帮助我们准确地理解句意。

－ 分割并列项： In order to survive the wildness, she needs water, food, and other essential items.

－ 分割完整句前的词组: Travelling in Beijing, I have to take my bag back.

－ 分割主句和从句：Even though it appears a great idea, I still have to think it over.

－ 分割插入语和主句：The Great Wall, one of the greatest places of interest in China, attracts millions of tourists every year.

2.冒号

引出下文的解释说明或者要引用的内容

－ 后面跟完整句：He is a great athlete: he plays soccer, baseball and basketball.

－ 后面跟单词或短语：He plays many sports: soccer, baseball and basketball.

3.分号

－连接并列句：Whooping cranes are an endangered species; they are unlikely to survive if we continue to pollute.

4.破折号

表达思路的突然变化：To get a high score – and who doesn’t want to get a high score – you need to devote yourself to prolonged and concentrated study.

5.句号

用于当一句话完全结束时

6.括号

用来表插入或附加解释的成分（插入部分可以是单词，词组或句子：They might take a walk together (remember feet) and see the neighborhood with fresh, new eyes.
